About the studio:
The Power
Of Dance is the first Dance studio in
the Green Bay area to offer classes and competition
teams based on the guidelines set forth by the United
States All-Star Federation (see www.usasf.net
for more information). This structure allows
us to offer our students outstanding preparation
for both high school and college dance teams. Our
team approach to learning builds relationships,
teamwork, accountability, and self-esteem. Students
will encourage each other to excel and work toward
a common goal.
Classes
are split into 2 groups: performance classes and
non-performance classes. Curriculum taught in performance
classes, which run for the entire year,
will be featured in a Spring Production at the end
of the season. Non-performance classes, including
technique and adult classes also run the entire
year but may be taken as individual (10 week) trimester
classes. Students may sign up for any combination
of trimesters or for the full year. Please see our
dance calendar for trimester
dates.
Class Registration:
To
register for classes, please complete our registration form which can be found on the Schedule Page or Registration Page and mail it to The Power Of
Dance, 2300 Lineville Rd. Ste 103, Green Bay WI,
54313. Please include
a $20 deposit per student to reserve your place
in class. This fee will be applied to your account,
however, it is non-refundable should you choose
not to attend. It is advised to register early,
for class sizes are limited. Maximum class size
is dependant upon the age of the students and the
nature of the particular class. For planning purposes,
we ask that you register for classes by Aug
20th . Classes begin Sept 10th , however
registration will remain open through the first
week in October. Trimester classes will
be open for enrollment at any time. Refunds and/or
discounts will not be given for late registration
or missed classes.
Class Placement:
The POD is very excited to give students a wide range of choices and class options. To select the right class for you, please consider the student's dance ability, experience, and maturity. Older age brackets will be taught at a slightly faster pace than younger ones and students will be expected to pick up on material at the speed of the class. Levels within an age bracket (ex: Pom I vs. Pom II) refer to the actual skills involved in the choreography. In the case that students are placed in a class that is not optimal for their needs, movement between levels will be made based on teacher approval. Enrollment in any of our "extreme" classes is by teacher recommendation only. In the event that the student cannot provide a reference, an audition will be scheduled with one of the POD directors. All decisions will be made by the POD directors at their professional discretion.
Tuition:
A tuition schedule can be found on our website and in this packet. Please note that students have the option of paying for the entire year or by trimester. Each trimester is 10 weeks in length and full trimester payment is due the first week of classes (Sept 10 th , Dec 3 rd , and Feb 25 th ). Tuition not received as scheduled will result in a weekly late charge of $5 per student per class.
Returned checks will result in a $30 charge followed by payment in cash.
Outstanding tuition may result in the temporary suspension of your child until the account is current.
Family Discount: We offer a family discount for multiple students from the same family or for one student taking multiple classes. Please see our tuition page for details.
Refunds:
Refunds will only be given if the student withdraws within the second week of classes. Registration fee is not refundable. There are no additional refunds or adjustments for tuition, costumes, or missed classes.
Attendance:
Attendance is very important for the development of a student. Since our classes are taught using a team approach, it is also crucial for the success of the class. If a student must miss a class due to illness or family obligation, please contact the studio as soon as possible. Unfortunately, missed classes can not be made up. Excessive absences may result in the student being pulled from our Spring Production. Please have respect for other students and your teacher by coming on time, in proper attire, ready to learn, and with a positive attitude.
Spring Production:
Curriculum taught in our performance classes will be featured in our Spring Production at the end of the 3 rd trimester. All-Star routines will also be featured. Dates, times, and locations for the dress rehearsal and performance will be distributed as soon as they are available.
Costumes for Spring Performance:
We will be ordering costumes for all dancers in performance classes in mid November. Each student must have one parent present to order costumes. While costumes for each class will already be selected, parents will be responsible for measuring students (we will guide you through this) and ordering sizes. Payment is due in full at time of ordering. Costumes usually cost between $50-$85 per piece. If payment is not received in full at time of ordering you will be charged an additional $10 late fee per costume. You are responsible for any alterations that need to be done to costumes. The POD is not responsible for costumes that do not fit properly.
Class Observation:
Although the POD directors would love to allow parents to view their children dance at all times, our goal is to maintain an optimal learning environment for our students. Therefore class observation will be allowed on designated days only. The POD instructors will give ample notice to parents as to which day(s) observation is available.
Dance Attire: Any of the following is acceptable.
- Dance Expression - any dance attire that allows for free movement. Students may spend time on the floor. Any athletic or dance shoes are appropriate. No taps.

Jewelry should be removed. For safety reasons, students may be asked to sit out if not in proper attire.
Inclement weather policy:
Classes will be cancelled if the Green Bay or Howard/Suamico schools are closed or dismissed early due to weather conditions. Please use your judgment for Saturday classes.
Cancellations:
Classes may be cancelled or combined if less than 5 students are registered for a particular class. In the case of teacher illness, a suitable substitute will be sought out; however, classes may be cancelled if one is not available.

Please clean up after yourself when using the lounge, bathrooms, and changing areas. Please show respect for your instructors, fellow dancers, yourself, and for all POD equipment.
